Better Lead Guitar Through Chords

Product Description
If you’re trying to improve your lead guitar playing by studying scales, that’s only half the picture. The best lead guitarists in rock, jazz, country, bluegrass and R & B base much of their improvisation and soloing on chords-even when they’re playing single note solos. In this one and a half hour lesson, Fred Sokolow shows you several chord based approaches to soloing and backup. Covering several musical genres, Fred teaches you to: Play arpeggios, country licks and fast flatpicking solos in country/bluegrass tunes like Jambalaya and Wreck of the Old 97; Solo and backup R&B songs like People Get Ready and Just My Imagination in the colorful style Jimi Hendrix used on Little Wing. Play Steve Cropper-style licks on Dock of the Bay and Under the Boardwalk.; Improvise Django-style solos on swing tunes like Avalon.. You’ll also learn some music theory and get a better understanding of the guitar, as Fred shows you ways to instantly find chords up and down the fretboard and connect them in chord families. Lots of Fred’s solos are written out in the accompanying tab/music booklet and if you put the DVD in your computer, you can access a PDF file and print it all out in a larger size. Fred’s relaxed style of teaching makes it easy for you to add new licks, new color and new strategies to your lead guitar playing.

Now is a little different, as you can find all kinds of guitar tabs online.
The first thing to do when looking for music is to determine what level of the person playing the instrument is. Obviously you do not want to give the complicated guitar tabs that includes many notes and a fast pace to a beginning player. They struggle with this and most probably it would frustrate them. Instead choose music that complements its current capacity.
One way to get a child, in particular, is common practice to give them songs they enjoy. If you give a child for guitar sheet music for a song is never heard, which is less likely to want to practice. However, if you find the songs you hear on the radio or have sung in school, will want to master those. They want to learn quickly that not only can impress your friends, but themselves.
Ask the child to dream of playing songs is a good start. If they tell you a song that you know is beyond their current playing ability, encourage them to continue practicing and suggest other songs that you know they enjoy.
Also, explain to the child that is not necessary to learn the whole song in one session. If you are working on a specific line with their guitar teacher and take a few days or weeks to learn that, reward them by telling them how proud you are. This will be the boost they need to keep learning until they can play the whole song at once.
Once the child feels comfortable, you can begin to play songs that are a little more difficult. Buying new guitar tabs for them as they progress from one level to another is playing the perfect way to demonstrate consistently that they firmly believe in their abilities.
