One reason why it is difficult for many guitarists to read sheet music is that you can find the same note on different strings. It is pretty easy to master the notes on the first four frets on your guitar but when you reach the fifth fret you have to decide on which string you are to play a note and you also have to find the fret. Making decisions has never been easy!
Do you have a good ear? Can a good ear be your enemy when trying to read guitar sheet music?
Pupils with a good ear, like you and me, can develop strategies to find notes without really learning the exact position on the fretboard. One strategy is to listen your way around until you will find the right note on another string.

In order to remember the notes that are in this space is between the lines, just remember FACE (F A C E as read from the bottom up). So now, if you have to tell me what note resides on the fourth space of the staff, as read from the bottom up, you can easily think of FACE and figure out that E is the note we were looking for. If you just put a blank staff in front of you and quiz yourself over what note lies on a particular line or space, you’ll soon be able to recall them without thinking of the acronyms listed. Play the 3rd fret with your ring finger
Play the 4th fret with your pinky
Note: After playing the first fret not lift up your index finger. Keep each finger on the string as you play them. This is important as it helps in the strengthening process.
Repeat the same process of the chain 5, 4, and so on.
Upon reaching the bottom string, slide your whole hand fret without lifting a finger.
At this point, your pinky should be on the 5th fret 1st string, third finger on the 4th fret, middle finger on the 3rd fret and your index finger on the 2nd fret.
Now it's in reverse, starting with the pinky, back to playing the guitar at the 6th string, only this time you have to lift their fingers while playing.
Then simply repeat the process until the last fret of the guitar.

Be sure to straighten the fingers and hands before practicing.
Learn to read music from reality and not just tablature.
Hiring a guitar teacher if you can afford. A teacher will be able to find errors that you are doing and correct it at once. This will help develop better playing habits. If you can not afford a guitar teacher, and then invest in a good course of study at home.
Learn to play chords, scales and techniques, not just your favorite songs. I know you only want to jump right and learn "Stairway to Heaven", but if you do not put the time in learning the theory behind these great songs that will not improve as a guitarist.
Do not pack up his guitar. Leave it to the weather. This will make it more convenient for you, simply take your guitar and play at any time.
Daily practice for at least 20 minutes, longer if possible. If you are bored, or making too many mistakes, and then take a break and do something else. 20 minutes of quality practice is better than an hour of sloppy practice.
Listen to other guitarists and not just in their favorite genre of music. You will be amazed at how other styles of music can affect your game.
Play with other musicians as often as possible. This is a great way to learn and pick up new techniques and tips.

I’ve gotten pretty much all rhythm guitar ideas down. I can learn any songs that consists of just power chords or bar chords. Its individual notes like in blues or scales and stuff i havent learned yet. can anyone help me out so i can learn lead guitar
