There are a bunch of places around the web to get good free guitar lessons but my favorites has to be Guitar KnowledgeNet (GKN). GKN is basicly a social network for guitarists interested in becoming better at guitar. The site has been around for years and has a lot of guitar lessons, learning resources and tools that really can be helpful to people working to improve thier playing. If you are working on your scales, chords, arpeggios, chord progression or just about anything else GKN has the lessons and tools that will have you playing like a pro in no time. Along with the many lessons, tools and other learning resources GKN also has a great member base filled with knowledgable people looking to help you get better. I’m including a few links to some my favorite tools in GKN, just so you can see some of the highlights. Gutiar Tab Archive – Nice archive of over 20,000 or so guitar tabs. While tab titles are viewable to all visitors, you have to be a member to download the files. Scales In Tab For Every Key – Need to find a scale fingering for Blues, Pentatonic, Major, Natural Minor, or Harmonic Minor Scales? In any key? With different Chord and Scale Fretboard Tool - This tool shows the locations of every note in a given chord or scale over the length of your fretboard. It is a great tool for finding different fingers for chords or scales Chord Progression Generator – This tool is great for song writers and composers. . . It randomly generates chords progression in any key and there are hundreds of Major or Minor progressions that can be used. (Lots of Fun!)
