Most children at some time to show an interest in music – whether you're listening to their favorite artists and singing in the hairbrush at home or going to concerts and local musical events. Some kids take that interest further, and decides to learn to play a musical instrument. As parents, it's great to see our children develop constructive and educational interests as music, and it is important for the development of our children that we support and nurture that interest to make it a lifelong passion. The problem is that finding a suitably qualified music tutor to help your child develop his interest is rarely an easy task. There are hundreds if not thousands of music teachers offering classes around to all managers – find the right tutor for your child, is like finding a needle in a haysack of guitar teachers room with little real experience or training. And since absolutely nobody can mark a guitar tutor is far caveat emptor – the buyer beware! So what can you do to make sure you've found a guitar teacher worth their salt? First, you want to check for accreditation. Do not take anyone's word for it – just because someone says they are a guitar teacher fails to do so. In fact, it could well be your first lesson, and who knows – it can only be one step ahead of you in the learning process. Look for external verification – is the guardian of a member of a professional body? Does he or she has extensive experience and qualifications, either by the professional body or an accredited university? If the answer is no, you can go ahead and find another tutor. Secondly, it is absolutely essential for safety reasons to ensure that any teacher has made a fully enhanced disclosure or criminal record check completed before giving a lesson. These checks are carried out routinely by professional education organizations – those that operate on their own almost never go to these lengths the same, which means there is no way to know if a convicted felon, and most importantly, whether or not adequate to work with children. Do not leave it to chance and assume their elected guardian is kosher – Make sure he or she is fully checked before sending your child to their first lesson. Music lessons can be a great experience for a child, and always find a good reliable tutor is appropriately qualified for the job you are attempting to do, your child can enjoy the lifelong benefits of music education.
