Nygaard covers bluegrass guitar in as succinct a manner possible without losing its history or major teaching points. For that reason alone I give it five stars. This book is not intended for beginners. As a supplement to a solid understanding of bluegrass guitar roots, I recommend this for the modern player who wants to know where they are coming from.

The content is great, but it seems to be delivered with little patience. Each example is played so quickly. Even the slow tracks move quickly and they are only played once.
If you are a beginner I’d definitely say start elsewhere.
