If either of them have effects and one happens to be delay, you can use some of that to get slapback.

However, focusing on the guitar, you should use the bridge pickup and turn the tone knob all the way down.

By the way, you have tube amps--they're already perfect for country! Because of that, I have a feeling that the tones you want might be created using pedals. Some pedals that country guitarists often use:

Compressor Pedals (I'd recommend the Keepey Compressor, but Boss offers a cheap one that's worth checking out)
Digital Delay Pedal (Boss offers a decently-priced one and I don't know of any other specific brands to check out for delay...slapback is what's most used with a digital delay pedal for country guitar)

Some guitarists to turn to for inspiration:

Brad Paisley
Chet Atkins
Jerry Reed
Vince Gill
Brent Mason
John Jorgenson
Redd Volkaert
Keith Urban (his latest stuffnisnt the least bit country, but his earlier stuff has some great country guitar work)
Danny Gatton
Johnny Hiland
Steve Wariner
James Burton
